DR. BRIDGET OSAKWE

Bridget is a women, peace and security expert, gender; process facilitation; training; civil society coordination, with a master’s degree in Peace and Reconciliation studies from the Coventry University, UK and a PhD in Peace, Conlict and Development Studies. With over 25 years of work experience and established for work purposes, valuable professional contacts at governmental, community, global, and civil society levels. Competent in Gender and inclusivity, Gender and Election, establishment of Peace Infrastructures, Gender and Violent Extremism, Political Analysis, Peace Negotiations and Mediation. Knowledgeable and experienced in youth and peace education, Manual and curriculum development, gender sensitive early warning indicators development, strategic and programmatic advice, Security Dialogue processes and strategic communication. Vast experience in partnership management and engagement, resource mobilization, working/supervising/building and empowering teams. Competent in capacity development and strengthening; technical advisory services; strategy and advocacy; project coordination/management.

Bridget has spoken and facilitated several national and international conferences and served as Moderator for the UN Women Headquarters, Policy Division, Peace and Security Section Global Digital Consultation on the “Voices and Perspectives of Civil Society on the Gendered Dimensions of Violent Extremism and Counterterrorism Responses”. Worked as consultant responsible for the co- delivery and co-facilitation of the ive-day Induction Training on Mediation, Conlict Prevention and Preventive Diplomacy to delivered to new Anglophone members of the FemWise-Africa Network.

Bridget, is a Fellow of the Institute for Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), Fellow of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) and Melvin Jones Fellow for Dedicated Humanitarian Services, and has some books and publications to her credit.
